Faith that Speaks
Romans 10:14-15
"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" - Romans 10:14-15
Three Responses for the Church:
1. Share Your Story.
2. Invest Strategically in Reaching the Lost.
3. Multiply Yourself Through Discipleship.
Bible Study Questions & Applications
1. What's the power of your testimony? Paul carried a burden for his people. His zeal wasn't religious noise - it was rooted in compassion. Our stories matter, like the woman at the well or the man set free in Mark 5.
Application: This week, write your testimony in three parts: Before Jesus, Meeting Jesus, Life After Jesus. Please share it with one person through a conversation, message, or post. Begin praying daily for someone specific who needs Christ.
2. Why is evangelism not optional for the believer? Paul outlines a divine chain reaction - no preaching, no hearing; no hearing, no believing. The gospel cannot stay locked in church buildings. Have you seen yourself more as a receiver of the gospel than a messenger? What's holding you back from speaking out?
Application: Identify one tangible way to 'go' this week: invite someone to church, post your faith online, or start a gospel conversation. Pray for 'beautiful feet' moments - divine appointments where you carry the good news.
3. How do we avoid being a cul-de-sac of the gospel and become a highway of hope? The gospel is not meant to arrive at us and stop. We are called not just to 'get decisions' but to make disciples. The Church is at its best when it multiplies, not just maintains. Are you more focused on filling seats or sending saints? Are you spiritually reproducing, or just spiritually consuming?
Application: Identify someone you could begin discipling: a new believer, a youth, a friend. Set up a regular meeting time to read Scripture, pray, and walk with them. Reflect on your spiritual life - are you moving forward in maturity or staying in place?
4. Are you investing in eternity or merely in activity? Gospel advancement is not just spiritual - it's strategic. Paul was supported by others. He didn't go alone, and neither should we. We're called to link arms - locally and globally. Where are your time, money, and prayers going? Are they aligned with the mission of making Christ known?
Application: Review your giving - are you supporting missions, church planting, or discipleship efforts? Choose one mission or ministry to support more intentionally this month - prayerfully, financially, or personally. Ask God: "Where can I go? Who can I send? What can I give?"
