Little Giants (ages 2-4)

While much faith development happens when children are older, the foundation for faith begins in infancy. It's our expectation to help children grow in faith through 10 various means:

Responding to the needs of the child
The first step in faith growth for this age group comes when adults pay attention to the children's needs
Talking about God- Helping them build the language of faith.
Talking about the children- We say over and over again "You are a child of God."
Practicing Christian values in the classroom- We teach values in every word we say and in every action we take.
Providing a climate of trust- Children can learn to trust God because they can trust their teacher and their teacher tells them that God loves them.
Modeling care- Children will learn to show care and concern as they see teachers hug a child, bandage a scraped knee, or guard a child from being hurt.
Praying with the children- As the teacher prays in the class the children will learn how to pray.
Playing with the children- Young children learn through play about God's creation and their place in it.
Singing with the children- Songs help children express their faith in God.
Telling and reading stories- Books that talk about God, about Jesus, and about the church help children grow in knowledge and in faith.

Kindergarden - Grade 4

We believe kids can experience God's presence, purpose and power in their lives. The Underground Church uses the K.I.D.S.. Church Curriculum. (Kids In Divine Service) because that's what it's all about.

What's included in each lesson:

Lesson Power Point - is the main point for each unit that the children need to understand.
Memory Verses - are written to help kids with different learning styles learn Scripture. Kids will enjoy and be able to participate in these activities, whether they are visual (sight) learners, auditory (sound) learners or kinesthetic (hands-on) learners.
Bible Lesson - to help our kids better understand the Bible passage and how to apply the message to their lives. Illustrated Sermon we call the Today's Life Story.
Object Lesson - help make Biblical ideas and principles come alive
Games - were created to add fun, plus an opportunity for review of previous lessons.
God Encounters - Children embark upon an amazing journey - one in which the teacher partners with the Holly Spirit to guide kids into the presence of God. Only in a small group setting can we really get to know the kids, find out what is happening in their lives and be aware of some of the ways God is working in and through them.
