Children are special and amazing gifts from God. As believers, we must recognize that children belong first and foremost to God our Father which means parents have the awesome responsibility of caring for His children. At the Moose Jaw Church of God, we encourage parents to dedicate their children back to God and commit themselves to raising their children in his ways.

What Baby Dedication is...

• A time when you recognize your child belongs to God. You submit yourselves to His rights as Creator.
• A time when you acknowledge your stewardship responsibility: to pray daily for God's direction in your lives, to faithfully attend church and teach your children the truths of God's Word in your home
• A time when you acknowledge these truths publicly in the presence of the body of Christ.

What Baby Dedication is not...

• A substitute for the child's ultimate personal responsibility before God
• Does not guarantee salvation or serve as a substitute for children to accept Christ when they're old enough to understand the gospel
• A substitute for your personal responsibility as parents

What is expected of you the parents:

• To love God. If you truly want your child to one day love and follow God, your lives must be an example
• To accept the responsibility to teach your children. Church fellowship can provide weekly instruction, but parents must seize the teachable moments that come throughout life.
